The attention of Doctors intending to emigrant to Quwait and Medical Institutions is drawn to the letter issued by the Embassy of India,Quwait about the potential risk in signing the employments contracts through internet before ascertaining the working conditions in quwait.

The Embassy of India presents its compliments to the esteemed Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait and has the honour to refer to the case of Dr. Jesudoss Randhir, and Indian national and holder of passport no. F.3063769 who arrived in Kuwait on September 19, 2006 on visit visa no. 67535484 arranged by M/s London group for Medical Services, P.O. Box 20, Safat 13001, Kuwait. (Telephone no. 3902881, Fax no. 3905538).

Upon his arrival in Kuwait, Dr. Randhir reportedly found the working conditions in the hospital to be uncongenial and therefore he did not want to join the hospital. However, his passport was detained by the hospital. However, his passport was detained by the hospital and he was reportedly ill-treated when he approached the hospital authorities for retrieval of his passport. The hospital demanded KD 479/- from Dr. Randhir for release of the passport. Eventually, Dr. Randhir Paid the amount to the hospital as per receipt enclosed.

This Embassy would like to bring to the kind attention of the esteemed Ministry that the hospital did not release the passport of Dr. Randhir in spite of a request made to them by this embassy in this regard. This Embassy regrets to note that this is the third case during this year where the passports of India doctors were detained by the hospital.

This Embassy kindly requests the esteemed Ministry to have the matter investigated and the outcome of the investigation may kindly be intimated to this Embassy.
