                      Indian students seeking admission in MBBS course in China and the likely arrangement with medical colleges in Nepal for the award of degree by these recognized institutions in Nepal.

 Read: The letter dated 26.4.2005 from the Counsellor, (I & C) Embassy of India, Beijing received through the Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development with regard to Indian students seeking admission in MBBS course in China and the likely arrangement with medical colleges in Nepal for the award of degree by these recognized institutions in Nepal.

             The members of the Adhoc Committee appointed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court and of the Executive Committee of the Council considered the letter dated 26.4.2005 from the Counsellor, (I & C) Embassy of India, Beijing received through the Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development and decided that the students admitted in the colleges recognised under Section 12(2) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 have to complete their full course of study in that college itself.  The students admitted in the medical institutions in China cannot be permitted to do part of their study in Nepal in a college recognised U/s. 12(2) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and the degree awarded by the college in Nepal which is recognised as per Section 12(2) of the IMC Act cannot be accepted a recognised degree if the students has done part of the training in China and part in Nepal. 

            The members of the Adhoc Committee appointed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court and of the Executive Committee of the Council further decided that this may be given wide publicity by publishing it on the website of the Council and a copy of this decision may also be communicated to Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India as well as other concerned authorities.
